Go John!
Got a cab ride tonight from a driver on his first shift ever. He said his name was John (I didn't believe him, but that's OK). We talked about his kids and my kids. He said that Canada is the best place with the best people. He has an MBA from a university in India, and he's driving cab. If he doesn't have access to the same opportunities as my great-grandparents, who were immigrants to Canada, then something's wrong. We've lost our way, as a country, if John (or whatever) doesn't have the same opportunities that my ancestors had. John (or whatever), I hope your last shift as a cabbie arrives soon. Canada has a place for you and your kids. Thanks for driving me home.

Well, I dunno...your great-grandparents broke their backs doing labor that would have killed you or I, and watched their babies carried off by illnesses that are now pretty much extinct. They had no opportunities, but worked like slaves until their *children* were able to get somewhere.
No tears from me for John - sorry mang.
